Once a year we put the bulletin down, fire up the grills, and remember that church is a people, not a program. Bring whoever you’d sit with at a cookout. First-time guests are especially welcome — no need to bring food if that’s easier.

What to bring

A lawn chair or blanket, a side dish with your name on the container, and sunscreen. If your last name is A–M, consider a salad or fruit; N–Z, a dessert. That split is a suggestion, not a law.
